Unique Marriage Proposals!

How To Devise A Unique Marriage Proposal?

For many people a wedding day is one of the biggest highlights of their lives, but before that comes along, there is one important moment that gets the wheels in motion.  The proposal.  Remembered almost as vividly as the actual wedding day itself, a unique marriage proposal will be a story often retold.

Unique Vs Traditional

There are many ways that this can be done.  Popular ways for a man to propose to their partners seems to be the ring in the cake, getting down on one knee technique.  This is beautiful and fine, but, what if you wanted something a little different? What if you are the woman in the relationship and you want to propose to your partner? Which is the best, most memorable way to go approach it?

Consider Your Partner

The most important thing is that you make sure it’s what you both would like as a memory.  It’s brilliant to do the showy, larger than life things. But, if your partner is not so outgoing or doesn’t like surprises or has some other issues you are aware of, it might not be the best way to go about thing.  It’s certainly something you should consider.

For those of you interested in proposals, I have listed a few unique marriage proposals that might interest you.  Whether you use these ideas or not, they should at least get you thinking of possibilities that you may not have considered before.

Mail trick

You could elaborately set up a proposal by ensuring that they get mail that has words related to marriage and engagement, even if it is just the words “Will you marry me?”, accross different pieces of mail.

You may have to send it all yourself, probably even by hand. As part of that or separately, you could also make sure their local paper had articles relating to marriage and engagements.

If you are good word processing programs or know someone who is, it would be quite easy to put together a mock newspaper for these purposes. Imagine your love surprised by newspapers with the headlines “Her Name, Will” next day, “You” next day “Marry” next day “Me?”.

Newspaper Advertising

You could take out an advert in a local or national paper that you knew they definately read. By wording with a poem you could make it a truly unique marriage proposal.

Scavenger Hunt Proposal

This one is quite ambitious, and I don’t know anyone that’s tried it.

You could set up a Scavenger Hunt for them, especially if they were the adventureous type.  You leave clues for them, starting at their home or workplace that lead them to your chosen finishing spot, where you could be waiting.

Have a platter dish with lid waiting on a park bench, or a garden table or even a picnic blanket in a park.  When they lift the lid, it reveals an envelope or even a ring box, after which you then come out of hiding.

Marriage Marketing Scam

Hire two people to pose as marketing researchers. Market researchers with clipboards doing a survey on peoples opinions on marriage. The last question being “If your partner proposed to you today, what would your response be?”.

Then once your partner has given that particular answer to the actors, they then, to clarify repeat his/her answer but instead saying “So if (Your Full Name) proposed to you today your answer would be…..”. This would then give them a shock and reveal the actual purpose of the questionnaire.

Female researchers  would probably work better if you are a woman proposing and male researchers, likewise would probably work better if you are a man proposing.

National or Local Radio Announcement

You could also see if it could be announced on the local or national station radio show that they listen to.  You may not be able to, but local stations would love that sort of human interest story.  It’s an idea worth researching, especially if they are big radio listeners.

Hopefully these ideas have formed a template to work from for your own unique marriage proposal, or at the very least have got you thinking. For even more romantic proposals from a real professional romantic, just follow the hearts and flowers. I do hope, whichever way you decide to go through with it, that it is a memorable moment in both of your lives.
